Dr. Susan Hallbeck, is the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Scientific Director of Health Care Systems Engineering in the Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery and the Chair of and a Consultant in Health Care Delivery Research, as well as a Consultant in Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is a Professor of Health Care Systems Engineering in the Mayo Medical School. Susan earned her PhD from Virginia Tech, her MS from Texas Tech and her BS from Iowa State University, all in Industrial Engineering. She is a licensed professional engineer and a certified professional ergonomist. Dr. Hallbeck is the Past-President of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and President-elect of the Society for Surgical Ergonomics. Susan is a licensed professional engineer and a certified professional ergonomist with over 150 archival journal articles, 145 peer-reviewed conference proceedings and 6 book chapters.
