Monica Jain
Biography
Dr. Jain is passionate about narrowing the divide between innovative technologies and their clinical applications. She has consulted for and mentored numerous healthcare startup companies, and works on several leadership, education, clinical efficacy, human factors, and quality improvement projects. She understands that an integrative approach is vital for healthcare disruptors when it comes to creating true innovation in the industry.
In addition to her extensive professional experience, Dr. Jain holds leadership positions in a number of national organizations including: Heal.LA (Steering Committee Member); Society of Surgical Ergonomics (Co-Founder, Executive Committee Member, Applied Ergonomics Committee Chair, Research Committee Co-Chair, IT Committee Co-Chair); Association of Women Surgeons (Clinical Practice Committee Chair); American College of Surgeons (Committee on Emerging Surgical Technologies and Education member); American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (Career and Leadership Development Committee member); Association for Academic Surgery (Education Committee and Publications Committee member); and California Life Sciences (Emerging Innovation Subcommittee member).
Dr. Jain holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, acquired a Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University School of Medicine, completed her General Surgery Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and completed an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.
